Our Transition Away from AI Imagery
At Thinker’s Alchemy, our mission is built on accessibility and Free and Open Source (FOSS) tools. As a disabled-owned micro-manufacturing business, AI originally served as an "access technology" to help us bridge the gap when physical limitations meant our founder could no longer draw or generate marketing art.
However, we have listened closely to the maker and artist communities. We recognize the profound ethical concerns surrounding AI image generation and the harm it has caused to working artists.
Because we believe in paying humans for human craftsmanship, we are officially phasing out AI-generated imagery from our marketing and website.
We Need You (Open Call for Commissions)
We are looking to partner with human artists to design our new marketing materials, mascots, and educational graphics. We don’t want you to work for free. We are looking for artists to officially commission.
What We Are Looking For:
Themes: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Alchemy, 3D Printing, Technology, and FOSS culture.
Vibe: Professional, welcoming, and slightly magical.
How to Submit (No Spec Work Here):
Please do not create massive, finished custom pieces for free. We respect your time.
Instead, please email marketing@thinkersalchemy.com with:
Your Portfolio/Social Links: Show us what you've already made! (If you wish to remain anonymous, that is fine, but we prefer to link to your socials so we can promote you).
Rough Sketches/Concepts (Optional): If you have a quick idea for our mascot or brand, feel free to send a rough sketch.
Fan Art (Optional): If you want to share your ideas on Thinker and the Book Buddies or just want to spread some joy, we would love to see your work.
The Terms of Submission (Your Art is YOURS):
You retain 100% of your copyright. Submitting an email does not make your art our property.
By emailing us, you grant us a non-exclusive license to feature your submitted image on our social media to celebrate this initiative (we will always tag and credit you).
If your style matches our vision, we will reach out to negotiate a paid commission for official marketing assets.
Let’s build something real, together.
